Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh has invited President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to join the first all-party group that would attend the historic event of the opening of Kartarpur corridor in Pakistan. Manmohan Singh has accepted the invitation to attend the event, said Amarinder Singh
Amarinder Singh met President Kovind, PM Modi and Manmohan Singh separately in Delhi on Thursday to extend invitations to the three leaders. Manmohan Singh has also agreed to join the first all party ‘Jatha’ to Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara and attend the mega event to mark the historic occasion.
Amarinder Singh on Thursday invited President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Narendra Modi to attend the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev ji, including the historic opening of the Kartarpur corridor.
Captain Amarinder Singh later told mediapersons that both have accepted the state government’s invitation to be a part of the historic celebrations. Modalities of the visit are yet to be finalised with Pakistan.
An official spokesperson said details official programme had been shared with both the President and the Prime Minister and they have been requested by the chief minister to attend the event as per their convenience.
