In a strange flip flop on Tuesday, Congress president Sonia Gandhi gave the charge of Tripura back to AICC General Secretary northeast Luizinho Faleiro a day after he was divested of it.
Congress said on Monday MP Gaurav Gogoi would hold charge of Tripura and Manipur along with West Bengal and Faleiro will handle the rest of the northeast.
In a “modified” order on Tuesday, Gandhi said Gogoi would be in charge of Manipur and Sikkim while Faleiro will continue to handle Tripura with the rest of NE.
Faleiro prevailed over Gandhi after latter’s attempt to sideline him in Tripura where former state Chief Pradyot Debbarman had recently resigned accusing Faleiro of mass corruption. Source – The Tribune
